That’s Thursday, August 9 – Sunday, August 12, 2012 in Orlando, Florida for the only official Zumba® convention in the United States. I am determined to have money saved up so I can attend!
Registration for convention won’t open until Spring 2012, so all we can do until then is book hotel and flight plans.
July 18, 2011 UPDATE
I called the Peabody last week to reserve my room for the 2012 Zumba Instructor Convention, and they were already sold out. Good heavens, this year’s convention JUST HAPPENED!
I put my name on the waiting list and booked a room at a hotel near the Peabody. I would suggest you do the same. Some nearby hotels have a “Zumba rate” set for a block of hotel rooms. Call and ask to see if they offer it, and you may save some money!

Word on the streets (and by ‘streets,’ I mean ‘Facebook groups’ lol) is that Convention registration will open the first week of March. We shall see! I have no doubt that I will be checking it every day around that time. :) http://convention.zumba.com

Hi I attended the convention along with 12 others from our small island of Guam. What an awesome experience. It almost made me forget how much money and flight time(22 hrs) was involved. The highlight is having my picture taken with the main man BETO. I enjoyed my classes that I totally missed the deadline to pick up my certificates. Would I get it via mail? Another question, I attended a session on “mastering the warm up /cool down”. Is it possible to get handouts on the key points?

I am waiting in anticipation for the registration, so I can confirm my flights and accomodation, don’t want to miss out. This will be my second convention so very excited, as I live in NZ. If there are any others going would love to hear from them.
I am getting certified soon and i was concerned it will sell out before i get a chance to register. could that happen?

So the zumba convention is only for instructors? Do you know if they have a zumba convention for folks who want to go zumba and have fun? ( I’m new to zumba and is thinking of becoming an instructor)

Hi Scott! Yes, the Zumba Instructor Convention is only for instructors. There are no other conventions scheduled. My advice to you would be to seek out Zumba® master classes in your area. A master class is nothing more than Zumba class with something special about it – maybe it’s being led by an out-of-town instructor or maybe it’s for a special cause. Plus anyone can attend a Zumba® master class. Good luck with your search! :) ~ Sarah
Hello, I am an instructor in Texas and a member of Zin and would love to attend the 2012 Convention. How did you find out the dates and hotel location? When I go to the website and sign in it doesn’t have the 2012 information posted yet.
Hi Denise! The dates were posted on Zumba Fitness’s official Facebook page a while back, and many instructors commented on the Zumba.com forum that they had reserved their rooms at the Peabody immediately after the 2011 convention. That’s how I was able to piece together the information. :) ~ s

Hi Francisco! The Zumba® Instructor Convention is just that – a convention for Zumba® instructors. To narrow it down further, it is specifically for instructors who are a part of ZIN™ (Zumba® Instructor Network). However, if you know an instructor who is going, you may be able to attend the night parties as their guest.
No problem! Like I mentioned in the original post, registration doesn’t open until the spring (around February), so you have plenty of time to save and plan. It would be nice to meet you at Convention too! :)
I am very interested in going to the 2012 convention..I have never been to one before. I was wondering do you have to pay for registration? Or are you only to pay for hotels and flights to get there?
Hi Steffanie! I haven’t been to Convention either, so I hope to make it to next year’s like you! You do pay for registration. Last year’s prices were $399 for 3 days or $499 for 4 days. The registration fee includes attendance to the Zumbathon Fitness-Concert, the live music concert, the themed party, and more. You can take the instructor training workshops (Gold, Aqua, Zumbatomic, etc) and can also attend different “flavors” workshops – tango, Bollywood, reggaeton, caribbean, etc.
You do need to save for flight and hotel costs as well as money to spend on food and purchasing Zumbawear (if shopping’s your thing :)
Update: the prices I posted were for later registration. If you registered early last year, the prices were $299 for 3 days and $399 for 4 days ($100 less than late regis).

Is the convention only for instructors or can the instructors bring students?
Only ZIN (Zumba Instructor Network) members can attend convention workshops. There are a couple of parties where a ZIN member may bring a guest.
As for hotel you can also stay at the Hilton and get the zumba fitness rate of 115 + tax a night..and the walk is not bad at all to convention center..you can book your room there starting in September which is about a year in advance…that is what i am doing..and using Hilton reward points..thank god for those.

This year’s convention registration opened at the beginning of February, which is probably when it will open for next year’s convention. Zumba Fitness usually sends out the info in ZIN newsletters and on their Facebook/Twitter pages. As soon as we know, of course, we will post it here at the website. :) ~ Sarah
